Chicago Cubs star, Middletown native donates large K9 statue to police headquarters

The newest K9 at the Middletown Division of Police is very large and blue.

The department recently showed photos and shared the story of the new artistic addition that is sitting in the lobby on Facebook.

“This bad boy, K9 Blue, was donated to us by our favorite Chicago Cub and Middletown’s very own Kyle Schwarber,” the Facebook post says.

The dog was part of Schwarber’s annual charity block party event last year in Chicago. The charity, Neighborhood Heroes, is a campaign designed to recognize first responders and honor their heroism, courage and devotion to duty.
